Luis E. Morales

My name is Luis Morales and I was born in Cuba, in November 1991. Since I was a kid I loved everything related with Plastic Arts and always found myself in school drawing on my notebook while the teacher was writing on the green board (I got in a lot of trouble because of that).

At 15 I went to a Professional Academy of Plastic Arts located in the east of Cuba, in my hometown but I always found the tattoo world appealing though I was under 18 and couldn't quite immerse into that business yet, so when I was 19 talked to a friend who lived in Canada to send me an apprentice tattoo kit because Amazon doesn't ship to Cuba.

I have to admit that I thought it was going to be easier than oil on canvas till I realized the truth was completely different. I never took any seminar or tutorial due to the lack of  access to the internet on the island so I managed to transfer the techniques that I learned at the Academy into my tattoos.

At 27 I left Cuba and traveled to Mexico where I worked over a year in a Tattoo Shop near the US border called Fox Tattoo. It was a great experience for me because it gave me the opportunity to refine my Black and Grey technique.

In 2021, after Covid 19 I moved to Tampa FL, and started working on FreeSoul Tattoos, it would give me the necessary experience to get to know how to work with american clientele.

Around that time Dave Bautista opened DC Society Ink Tattoo Shop in downtown Tampa where the co-owner and great artist John Jhon saw my work on Instagram and offered me a booth on the Shop where I currently work and feel a perfect atmosphere with the rest of the great artists that I share with.

Ink the Bay 3 was the first convention that I had ever participated in and was a great honor for me to win the “Best Tattoo of the Show” award along with 1st and 2nd place on “Best Color” category and 3rd place on “Best Sleeve”.

Tattooing for me is not only my work, it is more like a lifestyle, a way to express and share my experience. Most Tattoo artists would feel comfortable by identifying with a particular style but I believe the possibilities for creating amazing artworks are endless and different  in each style plus I enjoy a wide variety of them, so I don't think I’ll narrow my tattoos to any single style anytime soon.

I have been tattooing for 13 years now and I still think there's a lot to learn, alot to create, and knowing how fast the Tattoo Industry is growing I bet there’s still plenty of art to share.

Steve "Scuba Steve" Myers

I've been tattooing for 35 years and I've seen a ton of change in the industry, I've also been through alot of adversity!! I had double C-Spine surgery, the send surgery paralyzed me from the mid-west down. I had to fight my way back for the sake of my kids and my love for tattooing. I wouldn't change anything over the years, I love all of my clients and I love what I do for a living.
